Children's Map Competition: Short Ads

The Barbara Petchenik Children’s Map Award is a biennial mapping competition run by the New Zealand Cartographical Society (NZCS) on behalf of the International Cartographic Association (ICA) for children under 16yrs old.  Entries to the national competition are due in on 28th March 2013. The winners of each age category will win individual prizes and prizes for their school, and they’ll be forwarded onto the international competition.  The children should create a map of the world that addresses the theme of this year’s competition both graphically and through its title: “My Place In Today’s World" Any manually-created medium is acceptable, provided it’s not bigger than A3.   See www.cartography.org.nz for more details.

 

 

 

Barbara Petchenik Children’s Map Award

…Is a mapping competition run by the New Zealand Cartographical Society (NZCS) on behalf of the International Cartographic Association (ICA). Prizes include posters, NZ chart series, wall maps, books, and a once-in-a-lifetime experience for 2 lucky winners.

Open to all children under 16 yrs – 4 age categories (under 6yrs, 9-12yrs & 13-15yrs)

Theme: “My Place In Today’s World               

Entries due in 28th March 2013

·           Winners of the NZ competition will receive an individual prize and a prize for their school

·         Winning entries will then be forwarded onto the ICA for international Judging

·         Winners of the ICA competition will win 50 euro + a certificate
