NZMS 260 and 262 - Our Metric Topographical Heritage - Edited by Graeme Jupp, 2011

Available now from the New Zealand Cartographic Society is a booklet commemorating the NZMS 260 (1:50 000) and NZMS 262 (1:250 000) series topographical maps. This publication was launched at the Society's 40th anniversary in February 2011.

The booklet has been compiled to permanently record New Zealand's first national metric topographical map series. In circulation for more than 30 years, the 260s and 262s were superseded, respectively, by the NZTopo50 and 250 series maps in September 2009. Several authors with many years experience in cartography have contributed to the publication.

Included in the booklet's 100 pages are articles and colour illustrations concerning the development of each series from the 1970s until 2009. It also includes a definitive list of all editions and reprints of each series.

It is perfect bound in A5 portrait format (210 x 148mm). Sample pages are included in the PDF document on this page.

Only 150 copies have been printed.
