NZCS Publications

Over the years, NZCS has produced several publications, ranging from its own Journal through to the Newsletters and Conference materials. A short description of these publications is given below.

Cartogram
Cartogram, the Newsletter of the New Zealand Cartographic Society, was introduced in 1975. It was produced three to four times a year. Later it was published less regularly, with up to two issues a year.

GeoCart Publications
A range of publications have been produced for the GeoCart Conferences. They include Conference Programmes, Lists of Participants, Exhibition Catalogues and - most importantly - the GeoCart Proceedings. The Proceedings include all papers, abstracts, presentations and additional materials supplied by authors. Most of these publications is still available.

Journal
The New Zealand Cartographic Society, since its inception in 1971, was publishing a cartographic journal. Initially, the Journal was published quarterly, with a couple of volumes consisting of three Numbers only. From 1976 the publishing cycle changed to two Numbers a year. The last Volume (24) was published over two years (1994-1995). Due to the lack of original material coming from members and contributors the Journal has been discontinued from 1996.

Other Publications
NZCS is sporadically publishing other materials concerning cartographic activities in New Zealand and National Reports to the ICA.
